Motocamp USA is an off-grid camping and adventure mapping app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights. You can use Motocamp USA as a guest (no account, everything stays on your device) or with an optional account (your saved data syncs to the cloud so it follows you across devices).
In guest mode, we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. Without an account, Motocamp USA runs entirely client-side — your routes, favourites, and preferences stay in your browser's local storage on your device.
If you choose to create an account, the account data described below is stored in the cloud so it can sync between your devices.
Accounts are entirely optional. If you sign up — with an email address and password, or by signing in with Google — the following data is stored on our behalf by Supabase (our authentication and database provider):
If you sign in with Google, Google's OAuth service is used only to authenticate you and share your email address with us — we do not receive or request anything else from your Google account.
We do not sell or share account data with anyone. To delete your account and all associated cloud data, contact the operator at joshlees1@gmail.com and it will be removed.
The app requests access to your device's GPS location to:
Your location data is processed entirely on your device. It is never sent to our servers and is not stored beyond the current session. The app functions without location access — you can deny the permission and use the map manually.
The app may access device motion sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, compass) for the ride dashboard's lean angle and heading features. This sensor data is processed on-device only and is not stored or transmitted.
The app stores the following locally on your device using browser storage (localStorage, IndexedDB, Cache API):
You can clear all locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this app.
The app makes direct requests from your browser to these third-party services:
Campground data from Recreation.gov is bundled with the app as a static dataset — the app makes no runtime calls to Recreation.gov.
These services may log your IP address and the coordinates/queries you request. We have no control over their data practices — please review their policies.
Motocamp USA does not use analytics, advertising, or any tracking technologies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar services. If you sign in, Supabase stores an authentication token in your browser solely to keep you signed in.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Guest mode: we hold no personal data about you — everything is stored locally on your device and under your control. To delete it, clear the app's site data in your browser or device settings.
With an account: you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data (email, saved routes, favourites, preferences) at any time by emailing joshlees1@gmail.com. Deletion requests remove your account and all associated cloud data.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
